Santa Ana, un cerro de colores

Antes de hablar del cerro Santa Ana quise pasar por el Parque Seminario o mas conocido como el Parque de las Iguanas, un parque donde el tiempo se detuvo con su piso de piedra junto a sus monumentos y arboles,observar las famosas iguanas en todo el parque, tanto en los arboles como en los jardines,  ver a las iguanas posando para los turistas y crear un paisaje unico entre el hombre y la naturaleza, observar como la naturaleza convive sin hacer daño, como este pedazo de naturaleza da un grito para ser observada entre tanto cemento que la rodea.

Iguana de Guayaquil

Como llegar: este inusual parque esta ubicado en la Avenida Chimborazo y calle Clemente Ballén. muy cerca del malecón 2000.

Que llevar: Zapatos deportivos, ropa cómoda, gafas y cámara.

Hablar de uno de los lugares iconos de Guayaquil, es recordar al cerro Santa Ana, para llegar al cerro y sus casas multicolores debemos de ir Malecón 2000 y al finalizar el malecón encontraremos unas escaleras que nos llevaran, hacia el lado derecho la calle Numa Pompilio Llona un calle empedrada con sus casas antiguas que dan origen al Barrio las Peñas el primer Barrio de Guayaquil con mas de 400 años de antigüedad, sus orígenes son a partir del siglo XVII.

Barrio Las Peñas

Guayaquil sufrio de muchos incendios que consumieron las casas que antes aquí existían, estos incendios habían devastado todo Guayaquil por dos ocasiones y las casas que existen actualmente en las Peñas son construidas a principio del siglo XX.

En las Peñas vivieron muchos personajes famosos tanto del Ecuador como del mundo, en relación a la política Carlos Arroyo del Rio, José Luis Tamayo Carlos Julio Arosemena y Eloy Alfaro.

En sus empedradas calles pasaron escritores, historiadores, músicos como Antonio Neumane creador de la música del Himno Nacional del Ecuador.

A nivel Internacional llego el revolucionario Ernesto ¨Che¨ Guevara que llego a ayudar a los moradores del sector como medico, Ernest Heminway escritor norteamericano y el poeta chileno Neftalí Reyes mas conocido como Pablo Neruda.

Caminar por las Peñas es viajar en el tiempo es recorrer esas calles empedradas, disfrutar de sus casas, diseños creer que el mundo se ha detenido y se puede vivir otra vez.

Subida al Cerro Santa Ana

Hacia el lado izquierdo caminamos para las escalinatas del cerro empezaremos desde el escalon 001 son 444 que tenemos que subir hasta alcanzar la cima del cerro.

El recorrido va a depender de tu estado físico pero lo mas recomendable es ir con una botella de agua e ir descansando a lo largo de la subida del cerro. Esta subida de casas multicolores donde el ambiente informal hace que seamos uno mas de los habitantes del sector, a lo largo de la subida al cerro encontramos bares, restaurantes y tiendas que funcionan durante el dia y la noche en el sector.

Vista desde el Faro

Al llegar a la escalinata 444  llegaremos a una explanada donde encontraremos una capilla y un faro además de una estatua de Juan Pueblo una caricatura que representa al pueblo de Guayaquil.

Subir al faro y ver a Guayaquil en todo su esplendor nos damos cuenta de lo hermosa que esta la ciudad y de sus cambios constantes, una ciudad que se niega a dormir que crece dia a dia, esa Guayaquil que es una perla sin descubrir, una ciudad que el mundo necesita descubrir y que una vez que llegas te niegas a dejar u olvidar, es esta Guayaquil de mis amores que se gana nuestros corazones.

Before talking about the Santa Ana hill I wanted to go through the Seminary Park or known as the Park of the Iguanas, a park where the time stopped with its stone floor, monuments and trees, You can observe the famous iguanas throughout the park, both in the trees, in the gardens, see the iguanas posing for tourists and create a unique landscape between man and the nature, observe how the nature coexists without causing harm, this piece of the nature cries out to be observed between so much cement that surrounds it.

How to get there: this unusual park is located on Avenue Chimborazo and Clemente Ballén street. very close to the 2000 boardwalk.

What to bring: Sports shoes, comfortable clothes, glasses and camera.

Santa Ana's Hill

To speak of one of the iconic places of Guayaquil, I have to remember the Santa Ana hill, to reach the hill and its multi-colored houses we must go to the Malecon 2000 and at the end of the malecon we will find some stairs that will take us, towards the right side Numa Pompilio street It is a cobbled street with its old houses that give birth to Las Peñas neighborhood, the first neighborhood of Guayaquil with more than 400 years old, its origins date back to the 17th century.

Guayaquil suffered many fires that consumed the houses that once existed here, these fires had devastated all of Guayaquil twice and the houses that currently exist in Las Peñas are built at the beginning of the 20th century.

Arriving to the top

Towards the left side we walk to the steps of the hill we will start from the 001 steps to 444 steps that we have to climb until we reach the top of the hill.

The route will depend on your physical condition but the most advisable is to go with a bottle of water and go resting along the hill climb. This rise of multi-colored houses where the informal atmosphere makes us one of the inhabitants of this place, along the rise to the hill we find bars, restaurants, souvenirs shops that operate during the day and night in the sector.

When we reach the 444 stairway, we will arrive at an esplanade where we will find a chapel, a lighthouse  and a statue of Juan Pueblo, a caricature representing the people of Guayaquil.

I Climbed to the lighthouse and I could see Guayaquil in all its glory I realize how beautiful the city is,  and its constant changes, a city that refuses to sleep and grows day by day, that Guayaquil is an undiscovered pearl, a city that the world needs to discover and that once you arrive you will refuse to leave or forget it, this is Guayaquil of my loves that earns our hearts.
