Hace unos días atrás salí a dar
una vuelta para calmar mi mente de tanto trabajo que tenía acumulado y me encontré
con una exposición de bicicletas antiguas todas ellas reparadas y luciendo en
su forma original y tratando de usar las piezas originales de cada tipo de
bicicleta. Me anime a conversar con uno de los organizadores el cual me supo
indicar que fueron invitados por el ministerio de turismo para que realicen una
presentación aquí en La Libertad. |

Fueron 4 bicicletas que fueron
presentadas en esta ocasión una ROADMASTER de 1946 de colores rojo y negro,
esta bicicleta a participado en varios concursos internacionales en la categoría
americana.
Una bicicleta blanca de marca
SWINN DE 1963 con una doble funcionalidad en su manzana, es decir le permite
realizar doble cambio además de que funciona como freno también .
Una bicicleta doble tubo edición limitada
de marca ROYAL CRAWSON.

Y la bicicleta mas famosa al
menos aquí en la península de Santa Elena de marca CHOPPER que es inglesa y con
todas sus partes originales. Esta bicicleta me llevo a recordar mi niñez donde
solia salir a pasear por ese antiguo malecón que no estaba remodelado como esta
en la actualidad llegar al parque y regresar no había cosa mas emocionante que
ir a toda velocidad sin miedo a que nos suceda algo, son esas cosas de niños
que se llevan por dentro y que no hay que dejar de olvidar nunca.
En la ciudad de Riobamba se
realizan en dos eventos el primero que se realizo el 21 de Abril que fue la exposición
nacional de bicicletas clásicas con participantes de Portoviejo, Riobamba,
Quito y Cuenca.
El segundo evento se va a realizar
el 11 de Noviembre con la Segunda Carrera Nacional de Bicicletas Clásicas en la
ciudad de Riobamba donde fuimos cordialmente invitados.
Un viaje al pasado que nos lleva
a recordar y mejorar nuestro presente como dice el lema del Club de Bicicletas
Historicas: Por que somos mil bicicletas, mil historias.
OLD BIKES, MEMORIES OF THE PAST.
A few days ago I went out for a
ride to calm my mind of so much work that I had accumulated and I found an
exhibition of old bikes, all repaired and trying to use the original pieces of
each type of bicycle.
Encourage me to talk to one of the organizers
who told me that they were invited by the Ministry of Tourism to make a
presentation here in La Libertad.
There were 4 bikes that were
presented on this occasion a red and black
ROADMASTER brand, created in 1946, this bike has participated in several
international competitions in the American category.
A White bike, SWINN brand created
in 1963 with a double functionality, it allows to realize double change besides
that it works like a brake as well.
A double tube bike limited
edition ROYAL CRAWSON brand.
And the most famous bike at least
here in the peninsula of Santa Elena, a CHOPPER Brand that is English and with all its
original parts. This bike reminded me of my childhood where I used to ride on
the malecon that was not remodeled as it
is now, I arrived at the park and back; there was nothing more exciting to go
at full speed without fear that something happens to us, they are those things
of children that are carried inside and that we must not forget.
In the city of Riobamba, the
first event was held on April 21, which was the national exhibition of classic
bicycles with participants from Portoviejo, Riobamba, Quito and Cuenca.
The second event will be held on
November 11 with the Second National Race of Classic Bicycles in the city of
Riobamba where we were cordially invited.
A trip to the past that leads us
to remember and improve our present as the motto of La Historia Bicycle Club
says: Because we are a thousand bicycles, we are a thousand stories.
