Loja: La centinela del Sur / Zamora: Paraiso escondido del Ecuador

Puerta de Loja

Loja es la provincia mas al sur del Ecuador, esta localizada con la frontera del peru.

 Para llegar a loja debemos de tomar el bus de la cooperativa loja la cual nos lleva desde Guayaquil hasta la ciudad de Loja, son aproximadamente 12 horas de viaje. Es mejor partir en la noche para que el viaje no sea tan cansado y se pueda llegar temprano en la mañana. Y aprovechar toda la mañana conociendo Loja.

Al llegar a la terminal de Loja camine hacia mi hotel,  fui al Expo Hostal un lugar muy bonito y acogedor, me gusto el trato que me dieron en el sitio, recomendado si alguna vez van a Loja.

Loja

Mi recorrido empieza en el centro de Loja, fui a visitar La Puerta de Loja es un gran portal que asemeja un castillo medieval, por el que se ingresa a la ciudad desde el sur, pasando por la Avenida Colombia. La puerta fue construida como una réplica del escudo de armas de la ciudad. Dentro de este gran portal pueden encontrarse cuatro salas de exposiciones, un almacén de artesanía, una cafetería y un mirador desde el que se obtiene una excelente vista de la ciudad.

El segundo punto a conocer es el Parque recreacional Jipiro, se llama asi JIPIRO dicho en idioma Palta que significa lugar de descanso.

Son 10 hectareas de terreno para disfrutar del aire libre, tomarse fotografias debajo de la replica de la Torre Eifel, el Baño de la Ñusta (Inca), Choza Shuar, Los Feriantes, Los Saraguros, Mezquita Árabe, Pirámide Maya, Puente Colonial, Puerta del Sol, Templo indomalaíco, ademas se pueden observar flamingos rosados y patos

Se pueden realizar cabalgatas, yn caballos y en ponis, es muy bueno para chicos y grandes. .

El Mercado Centro Comercial Loja, también conocido como "Reina del Cisne", es un gran mercado de abastos donde pueden adquirirse todo tipo de víveres, como frutas, vegetales, carnes y dulces lojanos que son una delicia. El mercado está localizado en la zona histórica de Loja, a menos de 300 metros de la Plaza Central.

Parque Eólico

Otro sitio que hay que visitar es el parque eólico Villonaco, a este lugar solo se puede llegar en carro particular, no hay buses que te lleven a este hermoso lugar, tenemos una hermosa vista de la ciudad de Loja, entrando al parque el guía explica sobre el proceso de construcción del parque y la energía que produce. Hay mucho viento por lo que hay que ir abrigado.

Vilcabamba: La ciudad mas longeva del Ecuador.

Vilcabamba es un pequeño pueblo que se ubica a 45 km de loja, y es uno de los destinos más populares entre los mochileros y viajeros con presupuesto limitado, principalmente provenientes de Estados Unidos y Europa.

De estas mismas nacionalidades existe un gran número de personas jubiladas que viven en este pueblo, que tiene fama por la longevidad de sus habitantes. Llegue a Vilcabamba un dia de feriado, había poca gente en el pueblo y ningún sitio abierto lastimosamente.

Vilcabamba

Los buses a Vilcabamba parten cada una hora desde la estación de Loja a un costo de $1 aproximadamente. Las cooperativas de buses que viajan entre Loja y Vilcabamba son: Cariamanga, Vilcaturis y Sur Oriente.

Toco el turno a Zamora.

Para llegar a Zamora tome un bus desde el terminal hasta Zamora podemos tomar cualquiera de estas cooperativas de buses como son: Cooperativa Loja, Nambija, Yantzaza, Viajeros y Unión Cariamanga.

Zamora

Luego de una hora y media de viaje llegue a Zamora con un valor de $2.50, mi propósito era llegar al Parque Nacional Podocarpus pero me impresiono mucho el reloj gigante que existe en la ciudad de Zamora.

Al pie del rio Zamora hay un hermoso malecón que permite descansar y recrearse el cual recorri en el poco tiempo que tenia.  Luego de esto tome un taxi que me llevo al Parque Nacional podocarpus luego de unos 20 minutos de viaje.

Al momento de llegar al parque poco o casi nada sabia de este lugar me fue muy grato saber que existe un sitio de información que te indica lo que puedes visitar, apenas llegue la lluvia empezó con una garua ligera y luego a ponerse mas fuerte a medida que me adentraba en el parque.

La Poderosa

Al llegar a la administración había que registrarse e indicar de uno venia ahí me indicaron los senderos que podía conocer y elegi el de la cascada La poderosa, una hermosa cascada que al momento de llegar con lluvia y lodo me encanto haber hecho el esfuerzo y conocer tan hermoso sitio.

Caminando por estos senderos pude llegar a ver el rio Bombuscaro que quiere decir de aguas claras, según la leyenda quien se baña en este rio nunca se olvidara de Zamora o volverá y se quedara en Zamora.

Luego de visitar el parque nacional Poducarpus me toco regresar ya en la entrada como no existía taxi o transporte a esa hora pensé que me iba tocar caminar pero por suerte había un taxi que me toco pedir a las personas que viajaban en el me permitan regresar hasta Zamora y de ahí tomar un bus que me iba a llevar a loja nuevamente.

Este viaje se había acabado y me tocaba regresar a Guayaquil nuevamente, tocara volver en una próxima oportunidad y seguir recorriendo Loja y Zamora.

Linear Park

Loja is the most southern province of Ecuador, is located with the border of Peru.

  To arrive to Loja we must take the bus from the cooperative Loja which takes us from Guayaquil to the city of Loja, approximately 12 hours of travel. It is best to leave at night so that the trip is not so tired and you can arrive early in the morning. And enjoy all morning knowing Loja.

When I arrived at the Loja terminal I walked to my hotel, I went to the Expo Hostel a very nice and friendly place, I liked the treatment they gave me on this hotel it is recommended if you ever go to Loja.

Puerta de Loja

My tour starts in the center of Loja, I went to visit La Puerta de Loja is a large portal that resembles a medieval castle, through which you enter the city from the south, passing Colombia Avenue. The door was built as a replica of the city's coat of arms. Within this grand portal can be found four exhibition halls, a craft store, a cafeteria and a viewpoint from which you get an excellent view of the city.

Jipiro Park

The second point to know is the recreational park Jipiro, is called so JIPIRO said in language Palta which means place of rest.

There are 10 hectares of land to enjoy the outdoors, taking photos under the replica of the Eifel Tower, the Bath of the Ñusta (Inca), Shuar Shack, Los Feriantes, Los Saraguros, Arab Mosque, Maya Pyramid, Colonial Bridge, Puerta Of the Sun, indomalaíco temple, besides you can observe pink flamingos and ducks
You can do horseback riding, in horses and ponies, it is so great for all family.

The Mercado Centro Loja, also known as "Reina del Cisne", is a large food market where you can buy all kinds of food, such as fruits, vegetables, meats and local sweets that are a delight. The market is located in the historic area of Loja, less than 300 meters from the Plaza Central.

Another site to visit is the wind farm Villonaco, this place can only be reached by private car, there are no buses to take you to this beautiful place, we have a beautiful view of the city of Loja, when you enter to the park the guide explain you  about the process of building of the park and the energy it produces. There is a lot of wind so you have to go warm.

Vilcabamba is a small village that is located 45 km from Loja, and it’s one of the most popular destinations for backpackers and budget travelers, mainly from the United States and Europe.

Of these same nationalities there are a large number of retired people who live in this town, which has a reputation for the longevity of its population. I arrived to Vilcabamba on a holiday, there were few people in the village and no places were open.

The buses to Vilcabamba depart every hour from the Loja station for amount of  $ 1. The buses that travel between Loja and Vilcabamba are: Cariamanga, Vilcaturis and Sur Oriente.

To get to Zamora,  you have to take a bus from the terminal to Zamora we can take any of these cooperatives of buses such as: Cooperativa Loja, Nambija, Yantzaza, Viajeros and Unión Cariamanga.

La Poderosa Waterfall

After an hour and a half of trip I arrived to Zamora with a value of $ 2.50, my purpose was to reach the National Park Podocarpus but I am very impressed the giant clock that exists in the city of Zamora.

At the foot of the river Zamora there is a beautiful linear park that allows to rest and to recreate you, I walked in the short time that I had. After this I took a taxi that took me to the National Park Podocarpus after about 20 minutes of travel.

When I arrive at the park, I didn’t know so much about this place. I was very pleased to know that there is an information site that tells you what you can visit, as soon as I arrived a drizzle started to fell down then it become stronger but I had to walk for a path inside the forest.

When I arrived to the administration, I had to register and indicate where are you from after that they indicated the paths that you could meet. I chose the waterfall La Poderosa, a beautiful waterfall that I loved it, I had made a big effort with the rain and the mud to know this place.

Bombuscaro River

After that I walked along these trails I could get to see the Bombuscaro river that means clear waters, according to legend who bathes in this river will never forget Zamora or will return and stay in Zamora.

After visiting the national park Poducarpus I had to go back to the entrance as there wasn’t taxi or transport at that time I thought I was going to touch walking but luckily there was a taxi that I had to ask people traveling in that allowed me to return until Zamora and from there I took a bus to Loja.

This trip was over and it was my turn to go back to Guayaquil again, I would come back to Loja and Zamora there are beautiful places that I need to meet.
